Milliner Emma Fielden and artist Alex Harrap have come together in a unique collaboration to present images of Emma’s hats and headpieces from her Spring/Summer collection, and some archive pieces, in an exquisite book. Alex and Emma commissioned photographers Jo Thorne and Annemieke Goldswain-Hein, and Alex has reworked the images to create the ethereal, dreamlike, magical quality, that brings alive Emma’s vision. The pictures evoke a feeling of another time, another place. A surreal dreamscape, where fantasies are played out.

Isadora, Freya-Rose and Noir, from the band The Half Sisters truly found their alter-egos in this surreal country house setting. The collection features structured sculptural pieces, such as the oversized pink sinamay bow that the mythical Succubus wears, and a delicate cloud of tiny orchids that is the Ghostly Echo, and larger orchid hair bands as worn by the Sirens. Aswell as more structured styles, such as the lace tophat and dramatic feather headdresses.

The artwork for each image sets the scene and characterises each piece from the collection. Alex has created a fantastic visual story, as each alter-ego manifests itself.
